Pinal Gila Community Child Services is working in collaboration with Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens on a new and innovative program designed to assist grandparents and seniors who are raising grandchildren or a minor relative. “The 2000 census has identified some 4,500 grandparents in Pinal County who are caring for minor children and almost 1,000 in Gila County. We are offering a long awaited service to assist them with this responsibility.” Services include outreach, counseling, summertime activities, conferences on concerning issues and support groups for those grandparents and seniors raising a child.

We are also working on a new grandparent/kinship care registry to identify older persons who now find themselves in this situation. To find out more information about this program please contact us at 1-888-723-7321.
